These days we are missing beautiful Prince Edward Island and our memories travel back home once in awhile.
I was hosting an afternoon tea at Grandma’s Tea Room when June dropped by 4 years ago.
Today, my hostess is June, a kindred spirit formed in Prince Edward Island. Living in Savannah, Georgia
June
June finds time each Summer to return to the Island where her memories and heart are.
A little about June….
She loves story telling and family,
crafts & quilts
Tea
and gardening
You might think it is a long way to travel from Prince Edward Island to Savannah, Georgia just for tea,
but when you are travelling through and have such a kindred spirit as June, you are sure to stop in.
Savannah is lovely and we arrived at around 5pm just in time for a lovely chicken and cheese casserole with a side of baked squash.
Enjoying our afternoon tea, and a walk in the garden. June has a shared grapefruit tree in the back yard with plenty of grapefruit. In the morning I’m thinking of having a grapefruit. Tomorrow we are going to tour Savannah and we might even take in a River Boat Tour.
Sweet as honey is the flower for the month of June
“It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder
The month of June is my favourite, the flower rose is the birthday flower of June, my mother’s name was June, my birthday is in June and I have 3 dear friends with the name June.
I”m truly blessed. We have another celebration today and it is also celebrated with a rose. SANDI@ ROSE CHINTZ COTTAGE is having a tea party in celebration of her 3rd year of Tea Time Tuesday, please join us over at Rose Chintz Cottage with another rose.
Missing my little PEI Girls. Having fun with friends and family in the U.S.A.

Hi Cindy. I enjoyed learning about your kindred spirit friend, June. It’s nice to have friends with like interests including teatime. How nice to be able to visit June while in Savannah. It must be beautiful there and I don’t think you’d miss this cold snap too much. Take care. Pam
Oh my, those pink roses just melt my heart, Cindy! What a welcome sight and how lovely to be down in Savannah where it is balmy and warm!
It is bitter cold here right now with the temps dipping to -22 with a windchill in the -30s tonight. I’m glad you are where you are right now.
I loved the tea quilt and seeing all those lovely teacups.
When you open for business again in the Spring I really must try and get by for a cuppa tea. It would be lovely to finally meet you.
Thank you for joining me for my special tea party this week and enjoy your visit down in Savannah.
Blessings,
Sandi
How exciting and what beautiful gardens! June, I am so glad mom has such a wonderful friend here in the states that she can visit (and get away from all the noise my household has) It is tough on us at times I can not imagine how she feels though she would never say! It seems as though you both share many of the same interests with tea and gardening, and beautiful gardens and fresh grapefruit right off a tree sounds so delightful! keep enjoying your visit and I will keep a lookout for photos as it helps take me to a special place when I have chaos all around me! ;0)
I will have to include the picture of the grapefruit tree in the back yard even though it is in the neighbors, it hangs into June’s and is amazing
I forgot to mention my favorite tea cup is the blue and gold in the lower left……yes mom I’m holding up my fingers as I type to be sure I get the right left…….hehehe
We have favourites be it a plate spoon or a tea cup, the little things in life that make it easy
I love the same things that you love- tea and garden! What a fun blog!
Thank you Bernideen, how can you not love the simple things in life, I know ah
