These are a few of my favourite things.
In the early years before I opened Grandma’s Afternoon Tea Room I started collecting tea finds, each of these hats has a story to tell.
Being a grandma with a tea room wouldn’t be complete unless I offered a wee little tea for the wee little ones.
This past week I had guests stop by the tearoom from Maine, USA. They called ahead so I had time to set the table with red, white and blue.
Mini tea pots for the wee little teas.
A collection of tea and mini jars on the tea sniffing bar.
A collection of serving plates for those oh so yummy treats.
Recipe for easy peasy butter tarts
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) corn syrup
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter, softened
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vinegar
- 1 pinch salt (optional)
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) currants or raisins or chopped pecans or shredded coconut
I used prepared tart shells. Mix all in bowl and spoon into tarts.
Pre-heat oven and bake 450 degrees for 12 minutes.
This has to be my favourite find. This 3 piece set was gifted to me from a good friend here on Prince Edward Island. The green tea cup has to be the nicest with the rose in the bottom of the cup. I’m sure it is old, on the bottom what is visible is written Bavaria Germany DS Zone 6.
I’m linking up with Sandi as she hosts Tea Time Tuesday this week, come join us for tea and a few treats.
Have a wonderful day, and God bless,
