Nature has us climbing cliffs, repelling down rocks, exploring new beaches and looking for a hole in the wall.

An early ferry ride over to the Grand Manan Island was more than I bargained for,

image

The sea looked calm enough, however yesterdays storm serge left the ocean with sea squalls that dipped us from front to back and made many people  on the ferry sick.

image

discovered a number of nice beaches for seaglassing

found the need to get out to that lighthouse by way of that rope bride to the left

getting closer and still haven’t come to that bridge yet

made it out to the lighthouse and took a picture back of the beach we were on.

Then we hiked up cliffs, the smell of the pine needles and leaves were sweet smelling almost reminded me of candy floss.  I thought for a minute it was just me so I asked and the French Gardener was smelling the same way.

and down large hills along the edge of rocky cliffs

looking for this hole in the wall, pretty neat isn’t it?

Then we went for a drive and found a little house we could so live in by the sea, another spot we stopped was at a house where a lady was roasting coffee in her driveway and she made us a fresh cup of coffee and it was the best coffee I’d ever tasted, fresh roasted, ground and perked.  I noticed she didn’t use tap water and when I asked her about the water she told me a man at the end of the road lets everyone come to his spring and get water that he has had it tested and it is the best.  We took that ride down the road, found the spring and filled up our water bottles and we may  have to fill them before we leave the Island, and oh and a pound or two of coffee.

Found a lovely spot in Dark Harbour

and decided to stay until sundown. It  was a beautiful day, after a very wet stormy one and a nice change for my bones were starting to feel uncomfortable in the dampness.  I haven’t looked ahead to tomorrow but I’m thinking it is going to be some of the same, just all around good.

Enjoy your weekend,
Cindy
