Years ago it was nothing to see a list of volunteering jobs needed everywhere you went. Today however not many would take the time to volunteer time without getting paid. I guess time is everything, however I see more older volunteers in the run of a month than I do younger people and I think that is because we older people haven’t stepped outside our zone to let the younger generation in on the secret of volunteering.
Alan MacRae started his volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity, here is their volunteer web page. http://goo.gl/2JM51
At the Red Cross in Charlottetown PEI there is a large group of volunteers and I’d like to recognize Bill MacPherson, the Red Cross is always looking for volunteers. You can volunteer http://goo.gl/wUu60
Here is my post for today on “Wood you volunteer?”
On every work-site there are choppers, pilers, workers, standers, picture takers and then there are supervisors.
Meet the Supervisor of this wood piling expedition.
In the middle of the work job she has put her chair down in the case it is needed.
She isn’t afraid of a little hard work in fact she is usually uplifted from the exercise she gets.
As usual like any supervisor I guess they are able to walk away and leave the team unsupervised.
The team, the cutters, the pilers, the choppers, the carriers, the watchers, and the players, oh and the picture takers. Work comes to a crashing halt when the supervisor walks off the job for a little eye candy. Oh how she loves to take a ride on a sled. Living beside the trail Anna has the opportunity to see a lot of sleds while she is outside. Believe you me, everything stops so she can hear the sled and she knows one is coming way off before we do.
Do you have a volunteer group in your area? Perhaps you have volunteered yourself and I would love to hear about it.
