PEI – tourism

First, we are saddened by the shock and earthquake that hit Japan yesterday. I have been with the Red Cross for over 10 years as a voluntary Emergency Service Worker. Our hearts and prayers are offered on the day after the Tsunami hits Japan.    http://goo.gl/BxhX0

William and Kate look lovely.  Imagine an invite to  Westminster Abbey for the morning wedding on April 29th. It could only be a dream to see such a royal event.  Oh well we are back in reality here (pinch pinch).

The couple are planning a visit to Canada for nine days starting June 30 and their stops will include Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Ontario.

The royal couple will arrive on June 30 and depart July 8, visiting Ottawa on July 1 to celebrate Canada Day and to Prince Edward Island on July 3 and 4.

Ring (the phone)

CBC….”Hi, Cindy – its Ryan from CBC.”

Grandma…..”Hi Ryan, what can I do for you today?”

CBC…”We are calling around local businesses to ask them a question or two.”

Grandma….”Ok, go ahead.”

CBC… “What would it mean to Grandma’s Tea Room if William and Kate visited there?”

Well scoop me off the floor with a spatula and flip me over!

Grandma… “Well, lets see it would be an average ordinary day, the gardens would be im·mac·u·late and we would serve tea as any other day.  However, I would have to close down for two days after just from the overwhelming excitement.”

Wow! Imagine William and Kate sitting having tea at Grandma’s Tea Room, just a dream ok, I’m going back to making breakfast.  Fresh bread, bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich and a banana on the side… big sigh

Have you ever had the opportunity to see, meet, shake hands with the Royal Family? If so tell me about it I’d love to hear from you.

There is always time for a little chit chat on Prince Edward Island.  Over the years of operating a Bed and Breakfast, we have listened closely to the questions asked each year.  We understand how complicated it must be to venture to different parts of the Island by bike or by car and not know the distances, costs, open season, attractions, directions, temperatures, beaches, Charlottetown, questions about Anne of Green Gables, lobster suppers, free things to see, and where to get PEI scrapbooking product. This side of the Confederation Bridge is beautiful and we would like you to come and visit, if you have questions about travelling on PEI just ask as we have developed a chat line on our web site for you to ask questions.

On the Trailside B&B web site at http://besidethetrail.ca/ you will find an icon on the right of the page looking like this little computer screen with a headset hanging off the top.

We are a husband and wife team Cindy and Guy, and we are tourist operators on the Island bringing you information about the Island or about staying at a Bed and Breakfast, first timers love to hear what it is all about. We will do our best to be on line each evening to answer you calls.

Chat with you soon, Cindy
