Welcome to my Home, where

the table is set

My home this week has been in preparations for a dinner party of 18 tonight.

The Tea Room is hosting a get-together for a group who want to practice their French skills and have an evening meal.  I’ll be bringing  the French Gardener (Jardinier Français) in from outdoors and putting him in a suit and a bowler hat. I’ll need him to scrub the dirt from under his nails so he can be presentable as well as entertaining.

One can never be lonely when they have hats and tea cups.

Butternut squash soup, with caramelized onions and cream,

Stuffed roasted pork wrapped in bacon

Mashed potatoes flavoured with roasted red pepper

Oven roasted turnip, parsnip & carrot

and for dessert

Peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream

Everyone had a wonderful evening meal and the ladies put on hats, everyone was trying them on turning into someone new and taking pictures, laughing and having a great time.

I’m linking and sharing my Home with Sandi where she is hosting a special all about home party to remind us of sharing, love, friendships and special things around our home, come and visit others, you’ll be glad you did.

God Bless,

Lets think Pink,

Today I’m taking a look into honoring breast cancer awareness and breast cancer research.

The colour pink represents nurturing.

Mother’s set of Petite Pink Pattern.

The colour pink represents love,

Pink represents compassion,

Picture made of Canadian Postage Stamps from 1969

Pink is feminine and romantic,

A husband’s gift

Pink is thoughtful and caring,

a brother’s gift

Pink represents the giving and receiving of nurturing.

In memory of my aunts, each gifted me tea cups for the tea room, turns out they all have pink on them.

I’m having tea in this pink tea cup today in memory of a dear friend,

Often I serve scones on these dusty rose pink plates,

Chicken Bones! a sweet treat I favour, oh! and look they are pink.

Poppies, also pink.

Four years in a row we donated a % of proceeds from this room in our Bed and Breakfast to Cancer Research.

Pink surrounds us, it’s all around us,

I used pink to cover these mini scrapbooks in the gift shop,

I selected the colour pink on this tag booklet,

this mini rose beaded necklace is pink,

I was thinking pink when I cut this medallion from a floral plate to design a necklace,

You guessed it, my favourite! Seaglass, and it’s pink.

Our lives are turned upside down when a friend or family member has found out they have cancer.  How often we feel untouchable, unbreakable yet another mother, daughter, child, grandmother, aunt or friend reminds us of how precious our lives really are.  Don’t wait be tested.

In memory of June, my mother who passed away January 6, 2006

I’m linking into Tea Time Tuesday where Sandi is hosting a special Pink Tea Party in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

God Bless,
